Let me paint the picture for you.
You step into a major book store and something is different this time. As you look around, you reflect on how many times you’ve been here. You see the velvet ropes to corral the long lines of people to get a signature for a copy of a book you’ve purchased from your favorite author.
You smell the new cover. You see the excitement in other people’s eyes as they also interact with this revered author.
But as I said before, this time is different.
Because now, you’re not standing in line to get your book signed, but you’re the one signing the books of others. Yep. They walk you past the line and escort you to the table where you take a seat and see the eyes of your raving fans filled with excitement and glee.
You wonder, “How did I get here?”
You replay all the hard times and frustrations. The moments you felt like giving up and walking away from you writing dream. You thought, “that writing stuff only works for other people.”
But you decide to continue to give it a go. You dug your heels in deep and first started by listing your works on Amazon Kindle. You made a few sales. Now there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
So with only a flicker of light you press on. Determined to get as much exposure for your work as you can. All the while you continue to apply the strategies and methods you’ve learned from a successful author that was generous enough to share his secrets with you.
Your novellas go from just ok to awesome. People are starting to rave about how intriguing and engaging your novellas are.
And as you sit there…you reflect on how you first got started. When no one knew who you were and you didn’t have one book sale to save your life. As tears start to fill your eyes, you remember this moment.
The moment you stared at this exact page and took action.
